Rec This: Music of the Week and Dollar Shave Club
In this week’s Rec This, Hannah shares a Spotify playlist and Megan talks about how she saves some money on razors.
I’m going on holiday!!! As you read this, I am in lovely Napa at a festival listening to music, sipping wine, and generally lounging about. I wish I could take you all with me, so in the spirit of things, I made a Spotify playlist of just a few of my favorite songs by some of the artists that will be there. Give it a listen and think of me!
You’ve probably already heard of the Dollar Shave Club. I see sponsored posts of theirs all the time on Facebook, but never really thought much about it until two months ago. So what happened about two months ago? Well, for starters, it was getting warmer and I had to start shaving my legs again to look “acceptable” wearing shorts in public. I also watched this video:
I already knew most of this information, but actually seeing the breakdown and the side-by-side comparison made me pretty angry. So I signed up for the Dollar Shave Club.
DSC is pretty sweet. You can get razors delivered to you monthly or bimonthly. So no more forgetting to buy a new pack of razors. And their razors are SUPER inexpensive. I went with the bimonthly delivery because I don’t shave super often and don’t need to be changing my razor every single week. So now, for just $6 every other month, I get four new, high quality razors delivered in my mailbox. Do I care if the razor isn’t pink or purple? Hell no. Does it not work as well on my legs because it’s a “men’s” razor? Nope. In fact, I think I get a better shave with it. The razors I used to buy at the grocery store cost about $10 for a 4-pack. Now I’m paying $6, and I don’t have to drive to the store to get them. It’s a win-win. So stop overpaying for a pink razor, ladies! Go sign up for Dollar Shave Club!
